The Balanced Principal: Joining Theory and Practical Knowledge
Fleck, Franzy
Education Digest: Essential Readings Condensed for Quick Review, v73 n5 p27-31 Jan 2008
Too many new principals struggle through their beginning years and only learn through trial and error. The principalship is much too demanding and difficult to succeed without the support of the district and practical knowledge of veteran teachers and peers. In this article, the author, a veteran principal, shares a few tidbits that he learned early on with new and aspiring principals. Furthermore, he discusses the roles veteran principals and universities must take in joining theory and practical knowledge.
