Seeing Double: Piecing Writing Together with Cross-Age Partners
Smith-D'Arezzo, Wendy M.; Kennedy, Brenda J.
Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, v47 n5 p390-401 Feb 2004
As a university instructor and a language arts middle school teacher, the authors have been working collaboratively for the last three years. This article describes their collaborative efforts, including what they have learned about their students and about the process of learning through the work they have done together. To introduce their project, the authors have chosen to first write in separate voices, but to write the body of the article in the first-person plural to show the extent to which this has been truly a mutual project at all levels. (Contains 2 figures.)
