For most families, financial planning involves paying the monthly bills while putting money aside for the children's college funds and the parents' retirement. However, for parents of children with special needs, planning often takes on a very different meaning. Ensuring that children will have the resources to meet their financial, educational, legal and medical needs in the future can seem daunting and complex. Fortunately, there are experts who can help. In this article, the author provides parents with tips on how to develop a plan for the future of their children with special needs using a team of experts--financial planners, insurance companies, accountants, lawyers and others.
