"Resiliency" is is the ability to personally or professionally succeed despite adversity. To develop resiliency, adolescents need to be cared for and supported by adults in school, at home, and in the community. In this article, the author discusses ways to foster resiliency by developing a supportive school environment for both students and teachers. Tactics focus on administrator-teacher relationships, student-teacher relationships, and students' peer relationships.
