Camp Library: Sleepovers Can Form a Lasting Relationship between Kids and the Library
Chatterjee, Jayashree
School Library Journal, v52 n5 p35 May 2006
Having sleepovers at the public library can be fun and exciting. This article describes the Brownie Sleepover program, a library sleepover program, which started 10 years ago when two local Brownie leaders approached the former head of children's services to ask if she could help second graders earn their "Be a Reader" patch. After getting approval from the board, the program was launched as a way to create a special bond between young children and the library. The program leaves a strong impression because children see the library from a different perspective.
