Whatever the case, the returning of Chinese overseas students to China in large numbers has already had not a few repercussions. The author quotes information from Asiaweek and points out: "Contemporary economics, and especially social economics, is giving more and more attention to such factors as manpower and talent. Outstanding talent is not only a factor in production, it is also knowledge capital and cultural capital, and the direction of flow of talented people not only affects the ups and downs of the economy, but may also determine the rise or decline of a country. The advantages created will constantly grow when there is a gathering of talent and an assembling of the elite.
