Finding Alternate Degree Paths for Non-Traditional, NOW-Traditional Students
Kennen, Estela; Lopez, Estela
Education Digest: Essential Readings Condensed for Quick Review, v70 n8 p31-35 Apr 2005
In this article, the authors discuss the alternate degree paths for both non-traditional and traditional students and offer ways for institutions to accommodate nontraditional students. Students attend multiple institutions of higher education for myriad reasons. Increasingly common, a student may start a four-year institution and then do a reverse transfer to a two-year college because it is less expensive, more convenient in terms of location or class schedule, and presents a more achievable academic challenge.
