A Rubric for Comparing Dissimilar Text Materials
Michels, Barbara, J.
TechTrends: Linking Research & Practice to Improve Learning, v49 n1 p69-70 2005
At some point in an educator's professional life, he may be asked to serve on an awards committee for current publications in his field. An educator's concern then is on how to do it without bias, and more importantly, how to do it when the texts may be very different from each other. One text may be theory-based; one may be a textbook; and another may be an edited collection of some sort. In this article, the author suggests a rubric for comparing various texts in works under review for an award. (Contains 1 table and 1 figure.)
