Internships provide an important link between education and industry as students gain realistic views of the work world and broader perspectives of job opportunities. In their formative work experiences, students may encounter ethical situations they are ill equipped to handle. For example, they may experience harassment from fellow coworkers or may be asked to misrepresent hours on a time sheet. Although faculty members employ a thorough and painstaking process for approving internship sites, there are no safeguards that protect students from unethical situations, supervisors, or coworkers. In this article, strategies for teaching ethical decision-making in a Web-enhanced format are presented. Successful strategies include e-modules, e-journals, case study development, case analyses, and class discussion. (Contains 1 figure and a Sidebar with excerpts from internship case studies.)
