Influences on the Co-Construction of the Teacher Role in Early Childhood Curriculum: Some Examples from a New Zealand Childcare Centre.
Nuttall, Jocelyn
International Journal of Early Years Education, v11 n1 p23-31 Mar 2003
Draws on examples from a study of teachers' co-construction of definitions of curriculum in one New Zealand child care center to examine the influence of teachers' awareness of various early childhood education traditions/models and teachers' ideas about aspects of the center-based experience considered to be part of the curriculum. Concludes with suggestions for exploring influences that teachers bring to the task of co-constructing their role in early childhood settings. (Author/KB)
