The Multiple Faces of Everyday Life: Frame Analysis of Early Childhood Practices.
Puriola, Anna-Maija
European Early Childhood Education Research Journal, v10 n2 p31-47 2002
The frame analytical approach was used to explore the frames through which nine Finnish educators in early childhood programs interpret their working situations. Findings indicated that the educators interpreted their work through five different frames: educational, caring, managing, practical, and personal. Frames provided the rules and principles of work practices as well as the layered structure of everyday life. Findings pose implications for reflecting and developing child care practices.
