Why Should Philosophers and Educators Speak to Each Other? There Are More Serious Problems to Face and More Important Jobs To Be Done.
Arnstine, Donald G.
Educational Theory, v52 n3 p303-13 Sum 2002
Responds to Arcilla's article, "Why Aren't Philosophers and Educators Speaking to One Another?" denying there was ever much of an engagement between professional philosophers and educators but noting there was an audience for philosophy of education, particularly when addressing broad educational aims that could drive policy. The essay asserts that the terms of reengagement between philosophy and education must change to include an explicit critique of the current policymaking process. (SM)
