Attachment Security and the Problem-Solving Behaviors of Mothers and Children.
Colman, Rebecca A.; Thompson, Ross A.
Merrill-Palmer Quarterly, v48 n4 p337-59 Oct 2002
Examined relationship between preschoolers' attachment security and child and mother problem-solving behaviors in laboratory tasks. Found that, compared to children with higher scores, children with lower security scores on the Attachment Q-Sort made more unnecessary help-seeking bids and inability statements, were more frustrated, and asked for help more quickly on both manageable and difficult tasks. Maternal behavior did not differ. (Author/KB)
