Examined how Greek Cypriot elementary students perceived, imagined, and talked about Turks as a people, illustrating the process of ethnic identity construction in childhood in contemporary Greek-Cypriot society. Ethnographic data illustrate how children's stereotypical constructions of Turks are largely informed by their school learning but are also more complex constructions than the stereotypes themselves suggest.
