Consistent Clinical Assignment for Nursing Students Compared to Multiple Placements.
Adams, Virginia J.
Journal of Nursing Education, v41 n2 p80-82 Feb 2002
Nursing students (n=18) were assigned to a 10-week clinical setting (consistent placement) and 18 were assigned to 3 or more settings per term (multiple placements). There were no differences in learning style, self-esteem, or clinical learning outcomes. Those in multiple placements felt more challenged; consistent placements resulted in greater student comfort and clinical staff satisfaction. (SK)
