Beyond Concerns with Self: The Sophisticated Thinking of Beginning Student Teachers.
Burn, Katharine; Hagger, Hazel; Mutton, Trevor; Everton, Tim
Journal of Education for Teaching, v26 n3 p259-78 Nov 2000
Data from post-lesson interviews conducted early in the teacher training year examine student teachers' reasons for teaching decisions and evaluations of that teaching. Evaluation of lesson objectives and factors considered when working to achieve them suggests a high level of concern for student learning, echoed in student teachers' lesson evaluations, and a sophisticated grasp of the complexity of teaching.
