Explicit and Implicit Dimensions of Adult-Child Interactions in a Quality Childcare Center.
Kugelmass, Judy W.; Ross-Bernstein, Judith
Early Childhood Education Journal, v28 n1 p19-27 Fall 2000
This case study illustrates how a highly trained and experienced early childhood educator thinks about her interactions with preschoolers. Verbal and nonverbal patterns emerging from videotaped observations demonstrated how the teacher integrated information about specific children into these interactions. Although children's conceptions of time and space were consistently reflected in her behavior, she never explicitly acknowledged these dimensions. (Author/KB)
