Teaching Assistants' Preferences for Supervisory Style: Testing a Developmental Model of GTA Supervision.
Prieto, Loreto R.
Journal of Graduate Teaching Assistant Development, v6 n3 p111-18 Spr 1999
Surveyed graduate teaching assistants (GTAs) to determine the frequency of their supervision, their preferences for supervisory style, and how those preferences conformed to theoretical expectations within a comprehensive developmental model. Most GTAs received supervision, but the frequency of supervision was often inadequate. They preferred a collegial supervision style. The developmental model was a valid conceptualization of GTA development and supervision. (SM)
