In a summer 1999 survey of randomly selected NASSP and NAEP members, 65 percent of respondents reported a difference in the kinds of school-related programs offered because of liability concerns and costs. Many principals terminated certain classes and all physical contact with students; 64 percent said lawsuits are increasing. (MLH)
