Analyses and Comparisons of Cognitive Learning Preferences among Airline Pilots, Corporate Pilots, and Aviation Students.
Quilty, Stephen M.
Journal of Air Transportation World Wide, v4 n1 p1-13 1999
Comparison of research with 28 first/second-year and 52 third/fourth-year aviation students, 671 corporate pilots and 1990 airline pilots showed that pilots strongly preferred sequential and bilateral cognitive processing. Because these styles are reflected in aviation teaching methods, relational learners are effectively screened out of pilot training. (JOW)
