Attachment and Adolescent Psychosocial Functioning.
Allen, Joseph P.; Moore, Cynthia; Kuperminc, Gabriel; Bell, Kathy
Child Development, v69 n5 p1406-19 Oct 1998
Examined attachment's relation to multiple domains of psychosocial functioning in 131 moderately at-risk adolescents. Found that security displayed in adolescents' organization of discourse about attachment experiences was related to competence with peers, lower levels of internalizing behaviors, and lower levels of deviant behaviors. Preoccupation with attachment experiences was linked to higher levels of internalizing and deviant behaviors. (EV)
