School leaders should discuss policies and responsible practices related to student online publishing before questions arise. Administrators should seek consistency by comparing Web and printed publications, consider wider ramifications of limiting student publishing opportunities, link Web site policies to mission statements, develop an acceptable use policy, and realistically gauge liability.
