Urban Educators' Perceptions of Successful Teaching.
Ilmer, Steven; Snyder, Jo-Ann; Erbaugh, Sarah; Kurz, Karen
Journal of Teacher Education, v48 n5 p379-84 Nov-Dec 1997
Interviews with urban teachers examined factors they considered fundamental for successful teaching, comparing them with factors identified by student teachers and teacher educators. Experienced teachers indicated that contextual, personal, and pedagogical factors directly affected successful teaching. Across the groups, factors were ranked similarly, but there were significant differences in frequency rankings from individual themes across groups. (SM)
