Teacher, Student, and School Attributes as Predictors of Teachers' Responses to Inclusion.
Soodak, Leslie C.; Podell, David M.; Lehman, Laurie R.
Journal of Special Education, v31 n4 p480-97 Win 1998
A survey of 188 general education teachers' attitudes toward including students with disabilities identified hostility/receptivity and anxiety/calmness dimensions. Teacher attributes and beliefs, student characteristics, and school climate were related to both dimensions. Receptivity toward inclusion was associated with higher teacher efficacy, inclusion of students with physical rather than cognitive or behavioral disorders, differentiated teaching practices, and teacher collaboration.
