Writing in Public Residential Schools: A Position Paper.
Williams, Arthur S.
Journal of Secondary Gifted Education, v9 n2 p83-88 Win 1997-1998
Suggests that writing instruction for students attending residential public schools for gifted students must be tailored to this unique population. Writing instruction should include the writing conventions of various disciplines, writing for the general public, writing across the curriculum, technical writing, expressive writing, and persuasive writing. Both collaborative learning and directive teaching methods are recommended. (DB)
