The Dulais Opportunities for Voluntary Enterprise project in Wales benefited from European Community initiatives in a number of ways: (1) European Social Fund support enabled focus on women-specific training; (2) IRIS, the European Network on Women's Training, enabled transnational exchange visits; and (3) ideas about embedding guidance and counseling into programs were learned from a Sardinian project.
