The Bidirectional Relationship between Achievement and Externalizing Behavior Problems of Students with Learning Disabilities.
Richards, Cathy M.; And Others
Journal of Learning Disabilities, v28 n1 p8-17 Jan 1995
Forty-three adolescents with learning disabilities attending a residential school were assessed for externalizing behavior problems and academic achievement in reading, spelling, and arithmetic. Some indices of externalizing behavior predicted some measures of underachievement, but the reverse relation was not evident. Inattention interfered with a student's ability to profit from compensatory education. (JDD)
