Examined university administrators' (n=695) perceptions of how valuable higher education doctorate is for administrative positions. Findings suggest that vice presidents or deans of student affairs regard higher education doctorate more positively than do presidents/vice presidents or deans of academic affairs. Found statistically significant relationship between possessing degree and preferring it as qualifying credential for administrative positions. (Author/NB)
