One answer to the lack of resources in academic and industrial organizations is the formation of business/education relationships that typically provide economic support to academic institutions and needed personnel to specific corporations. Although there are problems associated with the formation of such alliances, it appears that their use is generally beneficial to those involved. (10 references) (DB)
