The validity of the stereotype of Asian-Americans as a "model minority" was examined by analyzing the academic achievement of 94 Asian-American college students. Only the stereotype that Asian American were more likely to major in science was supported. The subjects' academic achievement was not superior to that of matched comparisons. (SLD)
