The Influence of Teacher Gender on Students' Access to Knowledge about Their Sexual and Intimate Social Selves.
Brantlinger, Ellen
Feminist Teacher, v5 n3 p25-29 Spr 1991
Reports on interviews with 22 special education secondary teachers on their views concerning school-based sexuality education. Finds that teachers feel inadequately prepared to teach the subject, fear adverse community reaction, identify gender-related deterrents, and note a lack of support from male administrators. Also reports that teachers feel male administrators govern by subtle intimidation. (NL)
