The Role of Vision and Hearing Acuity Assessment in the Psycho-Educational Diagnosis of Mild/Educable Mental Handicaps.
Carter, Dave
B. C. Journal of Special Education, v14 n3 p217-24 1990
Elementary-aged students (n=106) who had been referred for evaluation as possibly mildly/educably mentally handicapped were administered audiometric and visual acuity tests. Discriminant function analysis found no relationship between test results and classification/placement as mildly handicapped. Alternate testing procedures are recommended for students found to be untestable using standard screening procedures. (JDD)
