Ethnic Origin, Sex and Science Learning of Israeli High School Students.
Tamir, Pinchas
Studies in Educational Evaluation, v16 n3 p373-97 1990
Survey data were analyzed from 14- and 17-year-old Israeli students--1,990 ninth graders and 2,000 twelfth graders, respectively--involved in the Second International Science Study. The effects of ethnic origin (Afro-Asian versus European/American) and gender on high school student achievement, interest/motivation, attitudes, and self-concept regarding science learning were assessed. Significant correlations were found. (TJH)
