A Meta-Analysis of the Validity of Methods for Rating Training and Experience in Personnel Selection.
McDaniel, Michael A.; And Others
Personnel Psychology, v41 n2 p283-314 Sum 1988
Reviewed validity evidence for systematic methods of evaluating training and experience (T&E) ratings in personnel selection. Meta-analytic summaries of data indicated that validity varied with type of T&E procedure used. Illinois job element and behavioral consistency methods demonstrated useful levels of validity with small corrected standard deviations; point and task methods yielded low mean validities with larger variability.
