Young Children's Viewer-Centered Representations: Drawings of a Cube Placed Inside or Behind a Transparent or Opaque Beaker.
Cox, M. V.; Martin, A.
International Journal of Behavioral Development, v11 n2 p233-45 Jun 1988
Two experiments investigated children's tendencies to draw what they know rather than what they see. The first experiment looked at the way children, aged five to nine, and adults represent an object occluded by another object. Most subjects drew only what they could see. The second experiment investigated subjects' interpretation of pictures produced in experiment one. (SKC)
