A survey of 506 female home economists found that five factors influenced their choice of major: (1) the service ideal, (2) perceptions of personal roles, (3) secondary school home economics, (4) perception of home economics as "feminine," and (5) 4-H experience. Age-related variables were correlated with these factors. (Author/CH)
