A Contingency Approach to Consistency: A Challenge to Prevalent Views.
Pazy, Asya; Zin, Ruth
Journal of Vocational Behavior, v30 n1 p84-101 Feb 1987
Predicted internal consistency, compared to inconsistency, would be associated with higher individual outcomes in congruent situations and with lower individual outcomes in incongruent situations. Assessment of professionals' (N=175) organizational commitment, professional commitment, job satisfaction, and job involvement revealed predicted effects in analyses using perceived person-environment congruence scale. Analyses using actual person-environment congruence yielded no definite results. (Author/NB)
