The author discusses the mathematics background of Masters of Business Administration (MBA) students and asks what math tools are necessary for an MBA. While she finds useful the ability to deal with linear and quadratic equations; interest, depreciation, and growth rates; and word problems, she concludes that calculus is of little use apart from microeconomics.
