Evaluated the effectiveness of an academic index, experiential background, and personal interviews, in predicting faculty ratings of academic success and potential counseling effectiveness in 77 trainees. Results showed graduate aptitude test scores predicted academic achievement, but not competence. Experience and interviews showed no significant validity. (JAC)
