Contrasts several conceptualizations about the interdependency of three empathy responses in kindergarten children: cognitive (understanding), affective (sharing), and facial empathy (facially expressing another's affect). Results corroborated a conceptualization in which affective and facial empathy were mediated by cognitive empathy. (Author/RH)
