Ramsey, Jonny H.
Journal of Research in Music Education, v31 n2 p133-45 Sum 1983
Study results revealed the following: (1) age affected the children's perception of melodic rhythm, contour, and interval; (2) high-ability singers scored higher than low-ability singers on perception of melodic rhythm, contour, and interval and tonal center; and (3) instrumental experience did not significantly affect perception of melodic components.
