The Use of Strategies in Estimating Measurements.

Three reasons are given for including measurement estimation in the curriculum. Nine appropriate strategies for the estimation of length and area and five inappropriate strategies were identified during a pilot study that observed 24 students in each of grades five, seven, and first year of college.
