Survey of graduate departments of psychology indicated: (1) minority employment prospects are improving; (2) research and teaching skills are prerequisites for employment; (3) insufficient research activity and excessive minority service bar tenure; and (4) minorities may choose one offer over another because of higher salary, preferred location, and presence of minorities in the community.
