This article traces the history of supervision in school psychology and discusses the current guidelines and standards of professional organizations concerning supervision. The duties of and demands placed upon field-based supervisors as they attempt to implement professional standards are discussed. In addition, minimal competencies of supervisors are proposed. (Author)
