The U.S.O.E. "Indian Definition Study" has focused attention on membership restriction by tribal governments. Many seek tribal affiliation for the wrong reasons and tribes are correct to maintain strict membership qualifications. In this way they will not jeopardize tribal future and will maintain cultural richness. (SB)
