Major developments in learning technologies, particularly interactive television systems, will result in increases in self-defeating behaviors. They might be used to deepen our hypnotic preoccupation with high impact diversions. If this happens, counselors and students of the 80s can look forward to higher levels of destructive dependencies, including intoxicants. (Author/BEF)
