Individual versus Societal Focus: Problem Diagnoses of Black and White Male and Female Counselors.
Berman, Judith
Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, v10 n4 p497-507 Dec 1979
Black counselors tended to use a societal focus of problem diagnosis more frequently than did White counselors. However, while Whites' diagnoses were almost exclusively individual, Blacks employed a more equal distribution of individually and societally focused responses. The significance of counselor sex differences was relatively weak. (Author/GC)
