Polyhedra, icosahedron, truncated doedecahedron--these terms, expected in college geometry, have recently been used by elementary students in the planning and construction of a cardboard geodesic dome at Stadley Rough Elementary School in Danbury, Connecticut. Besides developing students' creative expression, this project helps them understand alternative styles of housing and construction. (Author/RK)
