Selection Based Upon Conventional Data and Value Judgements: A Comparison of Three Methods for Selection
Wedman, Ingemar
Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research, 22, 2, 65-82, 78
Three different methods for selecting students for admission to higher education institutions are discussed and compared. The predictive system of selection, based on qualitative judgments, makes use of conventional data and also subjective judgments. The other two methods, the proportional system of selection and the predictive system of selection, are the present system of selection and a system based on strict regression analysis respectively.
