The Effects of Learning Partners and Retests on Pretest-Posttest Scores, Final Course Grades, and Student Attitudes
Barrall, Mary E.; Axelrod, Saul
Research in Higher Education, 8, 2, 177-87, 78
The effect of three peer monitoring and retest conditions on student quiz scores, attitudes, study time, final course grades, and independent pretest-posttest scores was studied. The three conditions involved learning partners, unlimited number of retests, and a combination of learning partners and retests. Results indicate that some behavioral techniques inflate grades more than increase mastery. (Author/LBH)
